Our Veterinarians

Dr. Rob Kartes

Dr. Kartes graduated in 1986 from the University of Guelph. He worked in emergency medicine and surgery for 3 years prior to relocating to Barrhaven and Manotick and becoming a partner in 1990. He and his wife and 4 children are loved and guarded by their two fluffy dogs Lucy and Daisy and 2 guinea pigs. Dr. Kartes is a member of VIN and the OVMA.

Dr. Paige Willis

A 1997 graduate of the University of Georgia, Paige practiced large and small animal medicine near Atlanta for 4 years. In 2001, she moved to Ottawa with her family including a faithful dog of 12 years, fish and a small parrot. Her family includes her husband, three children, the small parrot from Georgia (Australian Eastern Rosella named Rosie) and two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers named Bisou and Luna. Paige became a full partner in the practice in 2006. She and her family enjoy mountain hiking, biking, orienteering, geocaching, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing. Bisou and Luna especially enjoy hikes, camping and canoeing with the family. They also love socializing with other wheatens in the Ottawa area through the Eastern Ontario Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club. Dr. Willis is a member of VIN and OVMA.

Dr. Mark Rowett

Dr. Rowett is a 1984 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College and has been involved in small animal medicine in the fields of emergency, exotic animal, and general practice. He has a special interest in small mammal medicine. He is married with three daughters. He enjoys golf, curling, and photography and spending time with his bird Bella, and his dog, Winnie. Dr. Rowett is a member of VIN and OVMA.

Dr. Miki Shibata

Dr. Shibata is originally from Waterloo, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Guelph in 2001 and has been an associate veterinarian with Greenbank and Village of Manotick Animal hospitals since then. In 2010, Miki became a full partner. Miki has volunteered her time as a committee member of the National Companion Animal Coalition since 2007 and has also volunteered with Community Veterinary Outreach, an organization that helps animals belonging to homeless and street-involved people. She is also a member of VIN, CVMA, and OVMA. Miki and her husband Shawn live with a number of furry companions including two cuddly cats named Sprite and Leroy Brown. They have three crazy and fun border collies named Hali, Future, and Siri that enjoy frisbee, flyball, sport detection, and agility. Miki is like a "soccer mom" to her dogs and often spends weekends at various dog sport venues.

Dr. Erica Mitchell

Dr. Erica Mitchell is originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009 and, after spending the summer working in Thunder Bay, she decided to settle in the Ottawa area. Dr. Mitchell has been an associate veterinarian with our clinics since May 2010, originally working full time with us but now working one evening per week on top of her position with the government. She has a young son named Mathias, a cat named Abby and a happy friendly dog named Thor who is a German Shepherd cross. Outside of work she enjoys hockey, spending time at the gym, and travelling. Dr. Mitchell is a member of VIN and the OVMA.

Dr. Jackie Sinclair

Jackie is originally from Kanata, and is happy to be back close to her home base after completing her veterinary degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in the spring of 2013. She shares her home with her cat Molly, her 2 dogs named Jacob and Hawksley, and a gecko named Phil! She also has a plethora of laying hens. When she can Jackie loves spending time at the cottage, kayaking and snowboarding. Jackie is a member of VIN and OVMA.

Dr. Adrian Jones

Adrian grew up in Kingston before moving to Ottawa for high school. He completed his veterinary degree in 2012 at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland before moving back to Canada. During his spare time he likes playing sports such as Skiing, Golf and Soccer. He also enjoys traveling, spending time with his family and of course playing with his miniature schnauzer, Kiki. Adrian is also a member of VIN.

Dr. Sharon Zhang

Sharon is originally from Toronto, Ontario but now calls Ottawa home after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, being outdoors, and trying new restaurants. Sharon likes spending time with family and friends, and is always ready to cuddle her calico cat, Chi. She is a member of VIN and OVMA.

Dr. Kristin Isnor

Dr. Isnor moved to Ottawa in 2011 after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. She practiced emergency medicine for four years before moving to the United Kingdom and working in primary practice there with dogs, cats, and rabbits. She has a golden retriever named Digby, and enjoys photography, travelling, a capella choir and scuba diving.

Dr. Sam Deelen

Sam grew up in a small town south of Woodstock, Ontario, and made the move to Ottawa after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2018. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her Master's degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, also at the University of Guelph. Sam has a love for all animals, especially cats, and spends her spare time running, baking, or at the cottage with family and friends. She is a member of VIN and OVMA, and is Fear Free certified.
